Our recreational soccer program is the heart of the Jim Thorpe Youth Soccer Association. We welcome boys and girls of all skill levels, from first-time players taking their very first kicks to seasoned athletes ready to play as a team.

We are a 100% volunteer-run, parent-powered non-profit. Our goal is simple: give every child in Carbon County a safe, fun, and affordable place to play, grow, and build friendships that last a lifetime.
We run two recreational seasons each year: one in the Spring and one in the Fall.

Our Age Divisions

We group players by age to ensure safe, fair, and fun play. Our co-ed divisions include:

U5 & U7 Divisions: Built for our youngest players. We focus on basic coordination, simple soccer skills, and having fun with the ball.
U9 & U11 Divisions: Focuses on building fundamental skills like passing, dribbling, and shooting, while introducing field positions and teamwork.
U13 & U16 Divisions: Designed for older players to refine their technical skills, learn tactical awareness, and enjoy friendly competition.

Practices & Games

We keep our schedules simple so they fit easily into your busy family routine:

Practices: Teams practice once or twice a week on weeknights. All practices are held outdoors at Penn Forest Township Recreational Park.
Games: Game days are on Saturday mornings and afternoons. All home games are played on our beautifully maintained grass fields at Penn Forest Township Recreational Park.

What Your Registration Includes

To keep youth sports affordable and stress-free for parents, your registration fee covers:

A high-quality team soccer jersey.
Matching soccer shorts and socks.
League insurance and field maintenance fees.
A full season of games and practices (typically 8 weeks of play).

Note: Parents will need to provide mandatory safety shin guards, soccer cleats (no front toe cleat), and a water bottle for practices and games.
